The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and police department helped rescue approximately 60 dogs in desperate need of care from a suspected hog-dog fighting breeding ground in Cottonwood, Alabama. Dogs wereheld captive at a suspected breeding ground for dogfighting. The dogs were in bad condition malnourished and in need of treatment.
This abandoned car was a home for these unfortunate pups.
The dogs were taken to a temporary shelter, where they are being treated by veterinarians. The HSUS said the dogs will evaluated for potential adoption via its Dogfighting Rescue Coalition, a national network of shelters and rescue groups dedicated to giving the survivors of dog-fighting operations a chance at a new life.
